The meeting is expected to help those with any worries

An MP has hosted a public meeting for residents about the digital switch over happening in Powys later this year.

Lembit Opik and advisers met in Newtown on Friday, and they were joined by cable TV provider Wright's Radio Relay.

There was general information about the switch and advice about whether people are eligible for financial help towards new equipment.

Residents receive their TV signal from the Long Mountain transmitter, near Welshpool.

The digital switchover in the area starts on 4 November when the analogue signal for BBC Two is switched off permanently.

On 2 December, all analogue signals will be turned off.

Montgomeryshire MP Mr Opik has hosted a number of digital switch over meetings across the constituency.

He said beforehand: "I know that the switchover process can be confusing.

"It can also seem expensive, but it need not be."
