Man, 20, charged over chapel fire

A 20-year-old man has been charged with arson following a fire at a disused chapel in Aberystwyth.

A dozen residents were moved from their homes at the back of the Tabernacle in Mill Street on 4 July 2008.

The Victorian chapel, which was planned to be converted into flats, was demolished a week later amid fears it was unstable.

Dyfed-Powys Police said the man would appear at Aberystwyth Magistrates' Court on 28 January.
