New police warning on fuel thefts

Police are renewing a warning to householders to be on their guard against fuel thieves after a home was targeted for the second time.

Officers said a substantial amount of heating oil had been stolen from a house near Llandrindod Wells, Powys, twice in three months.

Dyfed-Powys Police said it had received reports of more than 50 such thefts so far this year.

The rise in the crime is thought to be down to the high price of fuel.

The latest incident happened at a home in Crossgates, near Llandrindod Wells, a few days ago. Thieves also struck at the property at the end of August.

People with information about the crime can contact police on 0845 330 2000.
