A 25-year-old man from Oxfordshire has pleaded guilty to raping a girl of 13 during the weekend of an annual fancy dress event in Llanidloes, Powys.

Alexander Meyer, of Sandford on Thames, Oxford, admitted the charge when he appeared before Caernarfon Crown Court.

His barrister said he has also been committed by magistrates for sentence in connection with indecent images.

Judge Merfyn Hughes QC remanded him in custody until 15 September for pre sentence reports to be undertaken.

Dyfed-Powys Police set up a major incident room after the attack close to St Idloes Church in Llanidloes on 4 July.
