A 26-year-old man has died after falling from cliffs at a beauty spot in Aberystwyth, say Dyfed-Powys Police.

It is thought he fell from Constitution Hill on Wednesday afternoon.

Police said rescuers had found the man, but he was already dead. His body was then taken to the town's Bronglais Hospital.

A lifeboat crew and an RAF helicopter were understood to have taken part in the rescue operation, which centred on the 435ft (132m) cliffs.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police in Aberystwyth on 0845 330 2000.
