Man charged with raping girl, 13

Welshpool Magistrates' Court
The man will appear in court in Welshpool on Wednesday

A man has been charged with raping a 13-year-old girl at an annual fancy dress event in Powys.

Dyfed-Powys Police said the 25-year-old man from Oxfordshire would appear at Welshpool Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

The alleged attack took place near St Idloes Church in Llanidloes at about 2200 BST last Friday during an event known as Llani fancy dress.

Police had arrested the man on suspicion of a serious sexual assault.
