Hanging on the 'wrong' phone line

Mrs Clark is worried they might miss out on ordering gifts online
Callers in a mid Wales town are being affected by crossed wires after a problem with phone lines.

Around 38 homes in Llanwrtyd Wells, Powys were connected with different numbers after initial work had been done on phone lines.

Stephanie Clark's household was given a different number and she said even though she saw the funny side it was an inconvenience before Christmas.

BT said it was working on the problem and hoped to get it fixed soon.

Mrs Clark said she found out about the problem after a BT engineer rang them wanting to talk to the line owner, who turned out to be someone else.

She said they were dependent on the internet for information because they lived in a rural area outside Llanwrtyd Wells.

Mrs Clark also said they had ordered gifts online for Christmas and were worried they would miss out on the run up to the festivities.

BT said it had offered customers the opportunity to divert incoming calls to a number, like a mobile, which had not been affected.
