Tregaron
A small part of the town was closed off during the incident
A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault after a taxi driver was attacked in Tregaron, Ceredigion.

Police said they were contacted by the driver, who had been assaulted with a sharp instrument, at around 1130 BST.

Armed police, the force helicopter and dog handlers attended an address in the town but failed to find the suspect.

Officers said at around 1500 BST a local man was arrested in a field close to the town centre, and is in custody.

They said the taxi driver had received minor injuries to his neck after being assaulted.

During the incident a small part of Station Road in the town was sealed off as a precaution.

The man who was arrested is at Aberystwyth Police Station awaiting interview.
