Town hit by torrential downpours
Newtown flooding
Some roads were left under several inches of water
Torrential rain caused flooding in parts of Newtown, Powys on Tuesday.

Some roads were left under several inches of water following the heavy downpours.

The Littlewoods Clearance shop on Station Road was forced to close because of floodwater in the building.

Mid and West Wales Fire Service responded to reports of problems on Longbridge Street, but officers later said the flooding had been due to a blocked drain rather than the rain.
