The death of a policeman at a house in Powys is not being treated as suspicious by detectives.

Dyfed-Powys Police were called to a property in Oxford Road, Llandrindod Wells, on Monday after reports that a woman was hurt.

When they arrived they found the body of Pc Lance Williams, 38, who was from the area, and a member of the Dyfed-Powys force.

The woman had medical attention for her injuries and is home with her family.

Police said Pc Williams' family had been asked to be "left in peace to grieve".

The force initially described the officer's death as "unexplained".
