Death fall hill walker is named

The walker's body was found on the sea shore
A man who fell to his death off a hill in Aberystwyth while out walking has been named by police.

Wynn Thomas Davies, 53, from the town, was found on the beach at the foot of Constitution Hill, said officers from the Dyfed-Powys force.

They are appealing for witnesses to the accident to come forward.

The ambulance service and Borth inshore lifeboat assisted police with the recovery of Mr Davies' body on Tuesday shortly after 1600 GMT.

Police in Aberystwyth said on Wednesday, that they believed Mr Davies fell off the hill while out walking "suffering fatal injuries".

An inquest has been opened into Mr Davies' death and adjourned until a later date.

Constitution Hill offers panoramic views of the town and is a popular observation point for visitors and locals. There is a path to the top.
