Hedgecutting accident man named

A man killed in an accident involving a hedgecutter in mid Wales has been named by Dyfed-Powys Police.

Martin Thomas Rees, 72, from Brynhoffnant, near Cardigan, Ceredigion, died from his injuries.

The incident happened at a farm off the A487 road between Brynhoffnant and Newquay at around 1500 GMT on Wednesday.

Police said that the Health and Safety Executive had launched an inquiry and had visited the scene.

The man was believed to have fallen into the blades of the tractor-powered hedgecutter, police said following the incident.
