Moped rider dies after crash

The accident happened on Wednesday morning

A 67-year-old man was killed when his moped was in collision with a Land Rover, said Dyfed-Powys Police.

The man was flown from the crash scene by air ambulance to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, but he died later.

The accident occurred near Llanfyllin, in Powys, on Wednesday shortly before 1000 GMT.

The 59-year-old Land Rover driver escaped injury in the smash on the B4393 road.

The road, which leads to the north Wales town of Bala, was closed while police carried out investigations.

Both the men involved in the crash were from the Llanfyllin area, said police.
