Forty years ago, the actors Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor were at Buckingham Palace as he collected his CBE.
On Thursday night she was at the palace again, this time to remember him at a gala to mark the 60th anniversary of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
It was announced that a bronze bust of the actor will be donated to the college in Cardiff, while its new theatre will be named after him.
