A machine that carries British hopes of shattering the world land-speed record for a lawnmower has been tested at Pendine sands in Carmarthenshire.

Project Running Blade as it is called is the brainchild of 49-year-old Stephen Vokins who, along with driver Don Wales, hopes to break the current world record, held by an American, by driving the lawnmower up to speed of a 100mph.

Mr Vokins and Mr Wales explain why they are taking on the mission.
