Woman's body recovered from water in Porthmadog

The body of a young woman has been found in a stretch of water in Porthmadog, Gwynedd.

The discovery was made on Saturday afternoon after police were called to the scene.

North Wales Fire Service were in attendance, and the police helicopter was also reported to be active in the area.

A North Wales Police spokeswoman said: "At the moment, police are not treating the death as suspicious."

However, she added investigations were ongoing.

The woman has not yet been named.
