Curtains up for National Theatre Wales company

It's curtains up for National Theatre Wales - the country's first English-language company to cover all of Wales. It doesn't have its own base but will perform at venues right across the country, ranging from workmen's halls to a military range.

The first performance by the company is being held in Blackwood Miners' Institute in Caerphilly county - and is a complete sell out.

A Good Night Out in the Valleys will be staged in five miners' institutes and workingmen's halls in south Wales, including Blackwood Miners' Institute.

The play is the first in a diverse programme which will attempt to "map" Wales in the theatre's first year.

Tomos Dafydd reports.
