Green Mountain College Choir traces Welsh roots

Members of a choir from the United States, who sing in Welsh, are beginning a tour around the north of Wales.

The Green Mountain College Choir is reportedly the only choir of its type in America to sing a Welsh repertoire.

Its members are based in the state of Vermont, a slate mining area to which many Welsh quarrymen emigrated in the 19th Century, taking their language and traditions with them.

The choir's Musical Director, James Cassarino, said it was important to make the trip.
