Plans to re-build 15th Century Newport ship

Eight years ago a 15th Century merchant vessel was discovered on the banks of the River Usk in Newport, the medieval vessel has been described as the best preserved remains from this period to ever be uncovered.

Experts have used computer modelling as part of the painstaking work.

Now after years of conservation and modelling work there are plans to rebuild the Newport Ship, timber by timber.

Curator of the project Toby Jones explains how the painstaking process of logging and modelling the ship will help them rebuild it.
