Hikers urged to be mountain safe over Christmas holiday


Hikers and hill walkers are being urged to keep safe, particularly over the Christmas holiday period.

Mountain rescue teams in Snowdonia have seen the number of rescue call-outs double over the past 12 months, with a number of deaths.

Tim Bird, of the MountainSafe campaign, says small precautions can avert disaster when hiking over the holiday period.
