Plan Eisteddfod visit online
Llanelli coast
Eisteddfod 2000 is held at a new 27.5 coastal park
Llanelli may be at the western tip of the M4 corridor, but Eisteddfod visitors can read all about the town on the web before making the journey.

A range of sites has appeared over recent years and months to offer festival goers information for the 'Steddfod week.

National Eisteddfod of Wales

The official pages, which are bilingual, have maps, travel information and parking plans, and come with a diary of competitions.

The Eisteddfod site has been in operation for a number of years and contains historical background and stories about the festival.

It now also includes Llanelli pages with a list of events, ceremonies and messages. Tickets for the 2000 festival can be booked using an online order form.

Changing Face of South Llanelli

The festival is being held at a 27.5m coastal park, built to rejuvenate the southern side of the town, which was once the region's industrial hub.

This new web site tells the history of the region in a series of photographs and presentation slides.

Llanelli RFC

No trip to Llanelli is complete without a visit to Stradey Park, the famous west Wales rugby ground within a stone's throw of the Eisteddfod site.

The Scarlets' web site is as passionate about the team as the side's fans, and displays the club's 125-year club history, with statistics sections and a chat room.

Carmarthenshire County Council

The local council, which operates the Millennium Coastal Park, has a detailed set of pages which details the attractions.

Visitors can look at maps of the park, take a tour of the millennium cycle path and follow the five-year story of the area's landscaping.

As well as information for locals, the local authority provides a list of tourist sites for the summer.
