Woman's body discovered by police

The body of a woman has been found by police near a pub between Cardiff and Newport.

South Wales Police confirmed that they made the discovery close to the Six Bells pub at Peterstone Wentlooge on Friday.

They believe the body is that of Karen Widgery, 53, from Cardiff, who they appealed for help to trace on Thursday.

The woman has yet to be formally identified and police said there were no suspicious circumstances.
