Police concerns for missing man

Residents were urged to stay away from part of a village as police hunted for a man they believed was intending to harm himself.

North Wales Police searched around Aberdyfi in Gwynedd on Thursday evening but did not find him.

The operation was later stood down but inquiries to locate the man, who is not from the area, are ongoing.

A police spokesperson said: "There was no suggestion that he would harm anyone other than himself."
