Water pipes bursts close roads

Burst water mains have brought disruption to drivers on a road in Powys and Conwy.

Dyfed-Powys Police say a burst water main has closed the A490 near Welshpool. They are advising drivers to use the A483 instead.

North Wales Police say roads in Mochdre near Colwyn Bay are closed after a burst left water more than a foot (30cm) deep in places.

The water supply to 20 properties in Mochdre has been affected.

Welsh Water said: "We have isolated the affected area of water main and are carrying out repairs. We expect the road to reopen shortly.

"Customers are expected to be without water for several hours while we complete the repair."

Roads closed include the junction of Conway Road and Old Conway Road.
