Cars on fire at recycling plant

A "significant number" of scrap cars at a metal recycling plant in Denbighshire have been burned in a fire.

North Wales Fire Service say they are still at the blaze near Corwen, but that it is now under control and they are damping down the vehicles.

Crews from Corwen, Ruthin, Bala and Cerrigydrudion were called to the scene at Bryn Saith Marchog, as well as the incident command unit from Wrexham.

The cause of the fire has not yet been established.

Mike O'Meara from the fire service said: "We are tackling a fire affecting a significant number of scrap cars which were well alight on our arrival.

"We expect crews to be detained for some time."
