The probation service is under threat due to a lack of funding according to Plaid Cymru's Parliamentary leader Elfyn Llwyd.
Mr Llwyd says the probation service could face a budget cut of £24m in the 2010/11 financial year.
Evidence suggests that at least one thousand jobs will be lost over the next two years. BBC Wales' Westminster reporter, Bethan James has been talking to Elfyn Llwyd.
