Girl, 14, charged with home arson

A 14-year-old girl is due in court charged with arson after a fire at a children's home near Wrexham.

Firefighters were called to the property on Sidney Street, Rhosllanerchrugog, shortly before 1600 GMT on Monday.

Everybody exited the building safely and there were no injuries.

Police said the girl, arrested on Tuesday, would appear before a youth court charged with arson with intent to endanger life.

Three fire crews from Wrexham had tackled the blaze on the first floor and in the roof space of the home.
