Animals killed after lorry crash

Around 100 sheep were killed when a lorry they were being transported in overturned on the A40 at Bwlch near Crickhowell, Powys.

There were about 540 animals in the lorry at the time of the incident.

The Mid and West Wales Fire Service, called to the scene at 1043 BST, said a vet was at the scene and the surviving sheep were being collected in a field.

Three fire crews from Brecon and Talgarth spent around three hours at the scene.
