Lucky the duckling faced being put down when she broke her leg. However owner Allison Morgan of Lliswerry, Newport, who rescued Lucky asked a cobbler to make a special shoe for the duck.
The leather sandal allows Lucky to walk and swim with Ms. Morgan's other ducks while she waits for an operation which will see her leg broken and reset using pins.
Allison says she is looking at devising a calliper for Lucky after her operation to help her leg heal properly.
