Police are appealing for help in identifying four men who took it in turns to ride a motorbike in two areas of a south Wales valley.

Armed police were sent in to the "unusual incident" after the four were reported riding in the Tonypandy and Clydach Vale areas of the Rhondda Fawr.

All four are described as white, aged in their 20s, and wearing full-face coloured crash helmets with a peak.

No-one was injured. A 20-year-old man has been arrested.

South Wales Police said the four were seen riding a blue-and-white coloured motocross-style bike in Gilfach Road, Dunraven Street, De Winton Street and the Pandy Inn.

One is described as wearing a beige coloured hooded top with a fur-lined hood with dark brown vertical stripes in a Burberry-style pattern.

Another was wearing a white T-shirt and a silver necklace while a third wore a three-quarter length black coloured jacket with purple sleeves.

Acting Detective Inspector Paul Latham of Ton Pentre CID said: "This was a very unusual incident and an investigation is ongoing to trace these individuals."
