Mourners have gathered at Caldey Island in Pembrokeshire for the funeral of Brother Robert. A special boat was put on to carry mourners from the mainland at Tenby across to the island for the service.
Brother Robert O'Brien, 76, had been the Abbot and part of the monastic order on Caldey Island for nearly 50 years.
He was well known for modernising facilities and bringing internet to the small monastic order.
Here Brother Robert speaks to the BBC about Christmas celebrations on the island and shows the traditional heating system used by the monks.
