A motorist has been arrested after a 24-year-old passenger died when the vehicle hit a tree in Powys. The dead woman, named as Lowri Evans, 23, from Ystradgynlais, was cut free by firefighters after the collision on a bend on the A4067 in the town. Dyfed-Powys Police said a white Audi saloon left the road opposite the Caerlan junction near Veola Transport Yard just after 2300 BST on Saturday. The driver is being questioned at Brecon police station. Two other passengers received neck injuries and were taken to Morriston Hospital in Swansea. There were four passengers in the Audi. The road was closed during an investigation into the collision. Witnesses to the collision are being asked to contact Dyfed-Powys Police on 101 or on 0845 330 2000 if they are calling from outside the force area.
