Teenager injured in gang attack

A 17-year-old needed hospital treatment for head injuries after he was attacked by a group of youths.

The assault was outside the Odeon cinema at the Welsh designer outlet village at Bridgend at about 1400 BST on Wednesday.

"This was a particularly nasty assault," said a South Wales Police spokeswoman.

Three boys, two aged 15 and one aged 16, have been arrested and released on police bail.

All of the youths are from the Bridgend area.

Pc Suzette Williams said: "An offence such as this is extremely unusual and I would like to reassure the public that we are treating it with the utmost seriousness and we will pursue all line of inquiry vigorously."
