RAF crew finds missing woman, 67

An RAF helicopter had to be called out to find a 67-year-old woman who went missing from her home in Ceredigion on Friday night.

The woman, who has dementia, left her home in Aberaeron to walk her dog just after 1800 BST.

Police and mountain rescue teams were involved in the search and called in a RAF Valley helicopter just after midnight after failing to find her.

The woman was found safe and well in a field, two miles from her home.

She had been spotted at around 0330 BST in a boggy area by the helicopter crew and a paramedic on board checked her over.

Fourteen members of the Western Beacons and Brecon mountain search and rescue teams, with Sarda dogs and handlers, were involved in the search.

A local farmer also used a quad bike to search tracks and local roads.
