Woman breaks wrists in cliff fall

A woman broke both her wrists and sustained a head injury after falling 25ft (7.6m) from the cliff she was climbing in a former slate quarry.

The woman, from Manchester, was given first aid by Llanberis mountain rescue team after she fell from Vivien quarry, Llanberis, Gwynedd, on Saturday.

She was then flown to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor by an RAF helicopter from Valley in Anglesey.

It is thought some of her equipment came away from the cliff face.
