Woman rescued after mountain slip

The woman was flown to hospital in Gwynedd for treatment

A woman was winched aboard an RAF rescue helicopter after slipping down an icy mountainside in Snowdonia and suffering head injuries.

The woman, in her late 20s and from Bristol, had been scrambling down the 3,000ft (914m) high Tryfan mountain, when she slipped on Monday.

The Sea King Helicopter based at RAF Valley in Anglesey, winched the woman aboard from Heather Terrace.

She was conscious and flown to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor for treatment.
