Search for security van robbers

Police are continuing to hunt for masked robbers who threatened two security van guards making a cash delivery to a bank machine.

Three or four men armed with knives and batons held up the guards at the Halifax bank in Rhyl, Denbighshire, at about 2000 GMT on Friday.

One of the guards was slightly injured and the robbers escaped with an unknown amount of money.

North Wales Police said a car was later found abandoned nearby.

The incident happened in Russell Road in the town centre. The getaway car, a silver Toyota Auris, was found in Graham Drive.

Detectives have appealed for witnesses to the robbery.
