Floods hit homes, school and land

Firefighters have been dealing with calls about flooding in several areas of Wales after heavy rain.

They went to Llanelltyd, in Dollgellau, to help pump out a house with 1ft of water in the ground floor and were in the Lovesgrove area of Aberystwyth.

Firefighters were also called to Ty Newydd Farm at Felin Fach, Lampeter, to help rescue 20 sheep which were stuck in flood water.

There were reports of a flooded cellar at Cyfarthfa High School in Merthyr.

In Aberystwyth, crews spent the night pumping water which severely affected Fron Frith Lodge, and a high-volume pump had to be brought into operation.
