Man injured after mountain fall

The man was with a party of walkers.

A man has been taken to hospital with head injuries after falling about 150ft (45m) from a mountain in Snowdonia, north Wales.

Members of the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Team and an RAF helicopter were sent to Tryfan on Wednesday morning to help the man, who is in his thirties.

After being unable to reach him, an air ambulance dropped two paramedics close to the injured man.

He was then taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor by a helicopter from RAF Valley.

The operation was co-ordinated by North Wales Police who were alerted to the fall at 1113 BST.

The man is believed to be from Plymouth and was one of a party who were walking on the mountain, which is 3000ft (914m) high.
