'Death row' dog freed from kennel

Tank the Staffordshire 'cross' dog
The public are being warned not to approach Tank

South Wales Police are looking for a dangerous dog that has been stolen in a break in at a dogs' home in Cardiff.

The Staffordshire cross named Tank bit nine people in Queen Street in Cardiff city centre early on 25 May.

Last month, a girl of 14 was convicted of having an out-of-control dangerous dog in a public place, and an order for Tank to be destroyed was granted.

But the dog was stolen from its kennel early on Tuesday, the day leave to appeal against its destruction expired.

Officers said they were very keen to find the dangerous dog and warned the public not to approach it.

Anyone who sees the dog or knows of its whereabouts should contact PC Mel Giles on 029 20634172.
