Police appeal over 'gun' robbery

Police in Cardiff have issued CCTV images as they hunt for robbers, one of whom they believe was armed.

A 32-year-old man was robbed by four men as he returned to his home in the city's Rumney area on Monday evening.

They ran off after taking a large amount of money at 1920 BST. One of the robbers is thought to have been carrying a handgun.

They ran off towards Glan Y Mor Road where they got into a dark blue people carrier.

'Reassure'

Det insp Peter Thomas said: "We are asking anyone who recognises the men or has any information to contact us.

"We want to reassure people a full investigation is ongoing and I'd ask anyone who has information to contact the incident room or Crimestoppers."

The first suspect is described as olive skinned, stocky build, 5 ft 10ins (1.78m) tall, with thick black eyebrows, wearing bulky clothing, a high visibility jacket, light hoodie, cargo-type trousers and black striped trainers.

The second suspect was slim, wearing a dark hooded jacket, light blue bottoms and white trainers.

The third male was light skinned, wearing a black jacket, black balaclava, dark bottoms and black trainers.

The fourth man was wearing a dark hooded top, light underneath, dark bottoms and a dark hooded jacket.
