The partner of a woman who was reportedly attacked by a burglar while pregnant has been bailed without charge after being questioned by police.

Simon Morris was arrested on Saturday night, a week after the attack, on suspicion of attempted murder.

Nerys Price delivered her baby by emergency Caesarean after the assault at her home in Prestatyn, Denbighshire, in the early hours of Friday 15 August.

North Wales Police said Mr Morris was given conditional bail.

Their enquiries are continuing.

Mr Morris, 36, who was also apparently injured in the attack, has been told to report back to police on 1 December.

Ms Price, 35, was just weeks away from giving birth when she suffered severe injuries after being hit over the head in the raid on the couple's £300,000 home in Calthorpe Drive in the seaside town.

Doctors at Glan Clwyd Hospital, Bodelwyddan, decided to deliver her daughter, Freya, amid fears for Ms Price's health after the attack.

She later received treatment for her injuries at Walton Hospital, Liverpool, before returning home.

A spokeswoman for North Wales Police said on Tuesday: "The 36-year-old man being questioned by police has been given conditional bail to report back to the police on December 1."
