A woman has died after falling 30ft (9m) from one of the cliff faces around Llanymynech Golf Club, near Oswestry.
A search involving Dyfed-Powys Police, West Mercia Police and the North East Wales search and rescue team (Newsar) was launched shortly before 1000 BST.
She was found at a cliff within the golf course shortly before midday and pronounced dead at the scene.
The course, which has 15 holes in Wales and three in England, sits on a limestone plateau on Offa's Dyke.
West Mercia Police, which is handling the incident, said the death was being treated as unexplained and the deputy coroner of Powys had been informed.
The rescue helicopter from RAF Valley, on Anglesey, airlifted the woman's body to hospital at Shrewsbury.
