An inquiry into the involvement of a police vehicle with the death of a taxi driver, killed when his car collided with another, is underway.

The taxi was travelling between Glais and Swansea when it collided with a blue Mazda car travelling opposite.

Two teenage boys in the Mazda suffered head and leg injures and were arrested.

Police have referred the incident, just after 0100 BST on Saturday, to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).

The IPCC investigators have carried out an early assessment of the scene and inquiries are continuing.

The driver of the taxi was believed to be in his early 60s and the occupants of the other car are aged 17 and 19.
