Snowfall caused traffic problems in parts of north east Wales during the morning rush-hour.

Snow has been reported in the Wrexham area with lorries stuck in three inches of snow on the A525 between Llandegla in Denbighshire and Bwlchgwyn.

The A494 near Loggerheads has been closed but North Wales Police have said the road will be re-opened later.

Reports also suggest that the situation is equally as bad on the A525 in Ruthin and on roads around the Coedpoeth area.

The Met Office warned of wintry showers falling in the north in the morning turning to snow on higher ground but said these would clear by the afternoon to be replaced by dry and sunny spells.
