Gwent Police have arrested two men following the death of a 26-year-old man who was attacked in a car park.
Gareth Davies from Llangibby, near Usk, was assaulted outside Wetherspoons and McDonald's while dressed up as a Ghostbuster on a fundraising night.
The two men, both aged 22 and from the Cwmbran area, have been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter.
Mr Davies's family said: "There are no words we can find to describe the devastation we feel at losing Gareth".
In a statement, they said: "He was a beautiful son and a wonderful brother and we were so proud of him.
"We have taken some comfort from the hundreds of tributes and messages received over the last eight days.
"He will be remembered as a good person who achieved such a lot in the 26 years we were privileged to have him with us."
Two men aged 22 and from Cwmbran arrested in connection with the attack were last week released on police bail.
The incident happened in the town centre between 1230 and 0130 GMT on Sunday, 28 October.
Mr Davies sustained head injuries in the attack and died in hospital the following Tuesday.
