An elderly man has died after being involved in a collision as he crossed the A5 near Betws-y-Coed, Conwy.
The road was closed both ways between the B5106 at Betws-y-Coed and the A4086 at Capel Curig following the collision at 0956 BST.
The Welsh Ambulance Service said the man was pronounced dead at the scene in Pentre Du, near Swallow Falls.
Road diversions were put in place in the centre of Betws-y-Coed and at Capel Curig.
North Wales Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them on 0845 6071002.
