Man dies in 'cooking' house fire
Scene of fatal chip pan fire
Four fire fighters using breathing apparatus went into the house
A man has died following a blaze in a two-storey terraced house which the fire service believe may have started when cooking was left unattended.

Firefighters were called to an address in Ruthin, Denbighshire at 0654 BST on Sunday by a neighbour.

The man was brought out of the house by fire crews and taken by ambulance to hospital, but died later.

Terry Williams, county safety manager for North Wales Fire Service, said an investigation was under way.

He said that preliminary investigations had lead them to believe "that this was a case of cooking being left unattended".

Fire crews from Denbigh and Ruthin used four sets of breathing apparatus and two hose reels to tackle the blaze.
