Missing inmate returned to prison

Edress Ibrahim Kaid was arrested in the Cardiff area
A prisoner who did not return to an open prison has been arrested after going missing for more than a month.

Edress Ibrahim Kaid, 44, failed to return to HMP Prescoed in Usk, Monmouthshire, on Monday, 2 July.

He was arrested by South Wales Police in the Cardiff area.

He appeared before Cardiff magistrates on Tuesday charged with being unlawfully at large, and is now in the custody of the prison service.
