A cloud of black smoke was reported over the steelworks
A fire at the Corus steelworks in Port Talbot, which sent a large cloud of black smoke above the area, was caused by an electrical fault, police say.

Fire crews were called just after 1500 GMT on Friday after reports of a blaze at blast furnace number four.

Initial reports suggested it was caused by an exploding gas cylinder, but South Wales Police said on Saturday a wiring fault had started the fire.

No nearby buildings were evacuated and no-one was injured in the incident.
